Stubbs was famous for his large oils of horses. Degas showed us the beauty of ballerinas in pastels. Monet painted lilies again and again. Curé (that’ll be me) sketches cafés in ink and watercolour. Combining creativity and comfort is wonderful, and today I’d like to share a few café sketching tips with you. I’ve been sketching with my son Paddy, and I’m conscious of a few things he feels might have helped if he’d known them, and they might be useful for you too.
